The unwritten rule

The unwritten rule
I hope you are healthy, successful, happy, and content - or at least on the way to getting there. Either way, don't forget the unwritten rule: The better things are going for you, the more you should help others. Not because you're hoping to get something back or for recognition or because the Bible, Qoraan or other holy books tells you so, but simply because it lies within your power to make the world a better place.
If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness
for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit
a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.
- Chinese proverb
I discovered a long time ago that if I helped people get what they wanted,
I would always get what I wanted and I would never have to worry.
- Anthony Robbins
My comment
"Helping"; is a word that needs interpretation. Giving money to a good cause is one way but it's not the only one. Sometimes helping simply means taking the time to listen to someone sharing a hurt, giving someone a helping hand, making an unexpected phone call to wish someone good luck, showing compassion to someone in trouble, or even refusing to laugh at a racist joke.

Is someone close to you having a problem? That's what we're here for.
